Coverage Terms Definitions/Descriptions
Liability coverage is the section of your policy that pays for damage you do to someone or something else if you’re at fault for a collision. This section is mandatory to have a vehicle anywhere other than your private property.
Collision coverage is what pays for repairs to your vehicle if you’re at fault for a collision or if your vehicle is damaged in a hit and run scenario.
Comprehensive coverage is all the things that can damage your vehicle other than a collision. Examples would be hail, theft, lightning, vandalism, etc.
